Abstract:

The population parameters and spawning season of the Spangeld emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus) were studied in coastal waters of Hormouzgan province. The monthly calculated mean values of gonadosomatic index (GSI) of females were indicate to increase from February, reach the highest in March and decline in June. The spawning season peak of L. nebulosus occurred in March. The Von Bertalanffy growth parameters, L∞, K and t0 were estimated as, 67.2cm, 0.16.year-1 and -1.161 year, respectively. The relationship between weight and length (Fork Length) can be expressed as W=0.051 L2.722, which indicates that Spangled Emperor has negative alometric growth. Using length converted catch curve, total mortality (Z) was estimated as 1.13 year-1 and natural mortality was estimated using Pauly's equation, as 0.57 per year. Finally, the fishing mortality (F) was 0.56, which gives an exploitation rate (E) of 0.50.

Research Article: Reproduction and spawning patterns of Atule mate (Cuvier, 1833) in the Persian Gulf & Oman Sea, Hormozgan coastal waters

Reproduction and spawning patterns of the Yellowtail scad (Atule mate) were studied in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea (Hormozgan coastal waters) from December 2016 to November 2017. A total of 447 fish were collected from Bandar Lengeh, Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, and Bandar Jask landing sites. Minimum and maximum fork lengths of this species were 10 and 33 cm, with average 20.63±1.73 cm. The to...

Reproduction and spawning patterns of the Scomberomorus commerson in the Iranian coastal waters of the Persian Gulf & Oman Sea

Reproduction and spawning patterns of the king fish (Scomberomorus commerson) were studied in the Persian Gulf (Hormozgan Province) and Oman Sea from Oct 2006 to Sep 2007. A total of 1120 fish was collected from different landing sites along the Iranian waters. Yearly analysis of the reproductive stages and gonadosomatic index showed a single reproductive cycle beginning in March and continue...

Estimatin of growth parameters and mortality rates of Psettodes )erumei in the Persian Gulf and Oman sea)Hormozgan province

The growth parameters, mortality rates and exploitation population dynamic parameters and exploitation rate of Psettodes erumei were assessed between July 2010 to June 2011 using length frequency analysis. The data were collected from landing sites of Jask, Bandar Abass, Kong and Qeshm Hormozgan province waters. Using total weight (W) and total length (TL) data, the length- weight relationship ...
